The elevator illumination was another great downtown event. We love meeting local people… everyone has a story with the rich history of Oregon City. We even met the granddaughter of one of the Petzold’s (our shop is in the Petzold Building on Main Street) so that was pretty cool!
The shop was FULL as everyone seemed to want our flyer of the LIFE magazine article on the elevator originally printed in 1955… there are copies left if you missed it!
LIFE Magazine covered the opening of the Oregon City Elevator in 1955. We have made a flyer from the original article and will be giving it out FREE during the Illumination Event on January 22, 2014. Stop in and get one… pretty interesting history!
